The Birdie Dance

You’ve seen all those news reports of the dwindling population of the House Sparrow. Know where they’ve gone? They’re all here (a lot of them, at least) in Goa.

Before you comment on how callous I am, know that I’m just kidding. I know how serious the issue is and I’m encouraged by the presence of the hundreds of sparrows around our house.

And I prefer them any day to those nasty pigeons.

These two were furiously chirping the other day as they did a mad dance around a pipe jutting out from our neighbour’s wall. Perhaps they were guarding a nest? More sparrows, yippee!
