Moneybags Year

Have you got this email, too?

This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens Once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So, forward this to
your friends and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui, the one who does not forward…..will be without money.

Kinda interesting – read on!!!

This year we’re going to experience four unusual dates.

1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 and that’s not all…

Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born – now add the age you will be this year,

The results will be 111 for everyone in the whole world. This is the year of The Money!!!

The proverb goes that if you send this to eight good friends money will appear in next four days as it is explained in Chinese FENG SHUI.

Those who don’t continue the chain won’t receive…….

Its a mystery, but its worth a try. Good luck.

Now, I did add up the last two digits of the year I was born and my age this year and who knew, it added up to 111. I’m not banking on the money, though.

Here’s a very good explanation found on the Koramangala blog:

The claim about 823 Years is rubbish. October always has 31 days, so there will always be 3 consecutive days which occur 5 times (4 weeks * 7 days) + 3 extra.
Saturday 29th October (the start of the 3 chosen consecutive days) will occur in all years in which October 1st is a Saturday. This will be 4 times in every 28 years (1 in 7), as October 1st will occur equally frequently on any chosen day within a 28 year period. There is nothing ‘magical’ about dates (in the Julian Calendar) they just repeat every 28 years which is ‘hidden’ by the effect of February 29th.

And if you’re still pondering about the magic of 111, this works only if you were born before the year 2000. Poor M is not going to be raking in the moolah this year at least. His total adds up to 11.
